In The Ticklish Octopus, Tentie suffers from a condition where he lets off a cloud of ink when he laughs, much to his embarrassment. After being tickled by Marcello and laughed at by Spikey and Gummy, Tentie seemingly swims away to Dryland, where as a baby, he was found by the Octopus Queen on a rock shelf. As the girls and Marcello go to find him, Tentie hears a remorseful Marcello apologising and shows himself to him. When the two are surrounded by Drylanders, Tentie has Marcello tickle him so they can cover their escape.
In A Big Mess, Polvina finds Tentie covered in muck and is shown to the Golden Reef, where a large amount of silt has been dumped there by Drylanders. Polvina attempts to get Tentie, along with a crab and a turtle, to show the Drylanders what is going on, only to scare them away. It is only when the girls sabotage the Drylanders' machine that they stop dumping silt on the Golden Reef.
