Synopsis[]
Ester thinks love stories are ridiculous. Well, maybe it's not so ridiculous when Ester is struck with a crush for the new boy Caton.
Plot[]
While Ester is disgusted with a romantic story, she becomes lovestruck when Marcello introduces the girls to Caton, who is visiting from the faraway lands. Polvina and Tubarina observe Ester’s weird behaviour and realise that she has a crush on Caton when they sneak into her room and read her diary. They try to convince Ester that Caton is boring and that he treats her like a slave, but she is unconvinced, saying that Caton asked her to make a picnic for him.
The next day, Polvina distracts Ester away to her house while she and Tubarina watch Caton playing hoopball with Marcello to see if they can find something that will prove to Ester what a big-head he is. They eventually find it when they see Caton being mean to Gummy by yelling at him after blocking his hoopball shoot. They then find Ester and have her watch as they attempt to have Caton be mean to Gummy again. However, he pretends to be nice to Gummy by letting him take the ball, saying that he wants to do other stuff.
Ester goes off with Marcello and Caton, the latter ignorantly calling her “Esme”, and suggests that they go slideboarding. While Marcello goes off to get the slideboards, Ester sits down with Caton as he eats the picnic. Caton accidentally gets hit by Gummy with the ball and he deliberately bursts it, leading Ester to see how mean he really is to both Gummy and herself. Ester leaves Caton as Marcello rejoins him.
Ester returns to Polvina and Tubarina, having finally realises the truth. On their way to the Octopus Palace, Ester and Tubarina promise that they will never feel that way about boys again, but Polvina, being accepting to the concept of romance, says that while love may seem confusing, it may make more sense when they grow up.
