The golden penguin earrings are a pair of earrings that appear in their namesake episode The Golden Penguins. They belong to the Penguin Queen and have been in the Penguin Royal Family for many years. They are claimed to be magical because they are apparently known to talk to certain people.
After school one day, Ester finds the earrings in the sand outside school. Taking them back home, Ester determines that they belong to Isa or her mother, but despite this, she expresses her desire to keep them. That night, the earrings begin talking while she is sleeping, but when she gets up to check, they tell her that it is just a dream. The next morning, Ester takes the earrings to school, but when she sees Polvina and Tubarina helping Isa find them, she swims away and hides out of fear that she would be known as a thief. The earrings speak to Ester again and tell her that they are her conscience talking to her, meaning that only she can hear them and nobody else. They seemingly torment Ester for the next two days, during which she tries to hide them in her drawer or at the place where she found them, only for the earrings to return to her both times. Eventually, Ester decides to return them to the Penguin Queen herself, which the earrings thank her for.
