The Great Escape is the forty-seventh episode of the first season of Sea Princesses.
Synopsis[]
The girls are playing with Delfi and her two friends, Ping and Patchy. Another dolphin joins them but he isn't what he appears to be. He leads Ping and Patchy into a Drylander trap. Will the girls be able to save them?
Plot[]
Polvina, Ester, Tubarina and Delfi are playing with Ping and Patchy when they meet a new dolphin, Nub. Nub quickly leads Ping and Patchy away, which comes to Delfi’s concern. Her concern is justified when they find Ping and Patchy captured by Drylanders, coincidentally the same ones who put in the drift net that they were trapped in. The girls are initially relieved that Nub hasn’t been caught, but they quickly realise that Nub led them into the Drylanders' trap.
The girls follow the Drylanders to a place that Delfi calls “a big cage of dolphins”. Delfi tells the others that the Drylanders capture dolphins so they can teach tricks for other Drylanders to watch. Deciding that they need to break Ping and Patchy out, the girls decide to come back the next morning, while the Drylanders are still asleep.
The next morning, the girls meet with Delfi, though they are slightly late because Tubarina forgot about what they were going to do. After failing to open the gate, the girls sneak in from the other side and enter the dolphin cages, evading a passing-by Drylander in the process. They find Ping and Patchy in the cages along with two other dolphins and even Nub, who says that he brought them to the Drylanders because he thought they would like it there.
Feeling remorse for his actions, Nub tells the girls that to open the gates, they have to get into a “small cave” that the Drylanders use. While Delfi waits with the dolphins, Polvina, Ester and Tubarina find the cave and press as many buttons as they can to open the gate, which eventually happens. Ping, Patchy and the other two dolphins are freed and Nub decides to help them escape to make up for what he did. Nub distracts the other passing-by Drylander by splashing him with a wave of water so the other girls can escape.
After the dolphins escape through the gate, Nub initially hesitates before deciding to leave as well. Ping and Patchy initially disapprove of Nub because of what he did, but they decide to take a chance on him and have him join their pod.
