It wasn't going to be over as soon as we thought, was it? Oh well, at least I've got a few things to share. Did I mention that the hype train is now at 1000%?

Things have changed since I made the first coronavirus update back in April. At that time, I was just starting to repost my episode reviews on Tumblr for content. Since the lockdown meant that my original objective would now be (somewhat) infeasible, I decided to cave again and buy the ten Princesas do Mar books I've been planning on translating for some years now. In other words, I decided to take a shortcut to get the hype train to 1000% because it was the only way if I didn't want to wait any longer.

Reasons for impulse buying aside, I later realised that it would be better to finish that project while I'm still unemployed (and also, unable to find proper work) because after taking into consideration the time it took to scan and translate those books, I thought about whether I would still be able to do that if I were employed and also if I would enjoy it as much despite the stresses of adult life. I don't know what would have happened had there been no pandemic in the first place, so in spite of everything, I'm grateful to have been given this opportunity and glad to have taken it when I did.

Currently, I've finished reposting my reviews of the animated series and I'm now working on the translations and reviews of the books. You can find the links to them on my Tumblr. Don't worry, information from the books will be added to the wiki eventually.

You may be wondering why some books are missing from the list, namely the educational and bathtime books published by CMS and Ciranda Cultural. The reason for that is that I removed them because they were unnecessary and they weren't mentioned on the official sources. I've seen some kids reading the educational books from Ciranda Cultural (there were eight of them in a set) and they are literally just introductions to various animals presented like the books that teachers made you read for homework in the first few years of school. So basically, the scope of my translations and reviews will only be the ten books published by Panda Books and nothing more.

I am also aware that other materials, like magazines and sticker books, do exist for this series, but I won't be actively seeking them, nor do I intend to (and this time I won't cave like I did the animated series and books). If you happen to have those materials and you think there are some good images or information that can be put on the wiki, then feel free to make an account and add them where appropriate. In case you didn't know, this message is only for the Brazilian fans of this series, since other countries only got the animated series and nothing else.

Very soon, this wiki will have covered all canon materials for this series. I know that I didn't have to join this wiki when I discovered it, but despite this, I honestly think that everything I did on the wiki was worth it, considering the treatment and moderation of some other wikis about other kids shows.

UPDATE - 15 July 2020: Forgot to say this. Yes, I am aware that the books have been published on Amazon Kindle, however there are no illustrations in the main series books and the translation in the literacy books leaves a lot to be desired. Despite this, I still recommend that you support the creator by buying the books from there. I will proceed with the translations and reviews as normal.
